Office Administrator
Launch your administration career in a supportive Christchurch accounting practice. Build valuable skills, improve office systems, and grow with a friendly, close-knit team.
Kick-start your career in a supportive professional environment where you'll gain valuable office administration experience, develop new skills, and enjoy exposure to the accounting industry.
Polished HR is proud to be partnering with a well-established Christchurch accounting practice to find an Office Administrator to join their friendly and close-knit team.
Based on Lincoln Road, this respected firm has been supporting local businesses and individuals for many years. Known for delivering exceptional service and building long-term client relationships, they have built a strong reputation within the community, with much of their growth coming through word-of-mouth referrals and client recommendations.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-focused administrator who can become an integral part of the team.
About the Role
This permanent position offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the potential to increase to full-time. You will provide essential administrative support to the wider team and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
The primary focus of this role is administration. However, working within an accounting practice will provide valuable insight into the accounting profession and broader business environment. This makes it an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious about the industry, considering future studies in accounting, finance, or business, or simply looking to build a long-term career in a professional office setting.
The practice is keen to continue improving and modernising its processes. They are looking for someone who is not afraid to bring fresh ideas, challenge inefficient processes, and contribute to creating more streamlined electronic systems and workflows. Your ability to identify opportunities for improvement and support the transition toward more efficient digital processes will be highly valued.
Your responsibilities will include:
Data entry and maintaining accurate client information.
Client onboarding (including AML implementation) and preparation of documentation for new clients.
Filing, scanning, and document management.
Assisting with the digitisation and streamlining of office systems and processes.
Identifying opportunities to improve administrative workflows and efficiencies.
Maintaining client databases and ensuring records remain current and accurate.
Assisting with various office projects and process improvements.
General office administration to support the wider team.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys organisation, takes pride in their work, and has a genuine interest in providing high-quality administrative support.
You may already have office administration experience, customer service experience, or be looking to start your career within a professional office environment. An interest in business, accounting, or finance would be advantageous but is certainly not essential.
You'll Bring:
Strong computer skills and confidence using office systems.
Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities
Confidence communicating with a wide range of people.
A proactive mindset and willingness to contribute ideas.
An interest in improving systems and helping create more efficient ways of working.
A positive attitude and ability to work well within a small team environment.
What's in it for You?
A supportive and welcoming team environment.
A varied role with a mix of administration and project work.
Exposure to the accounting and professional services industry.
Valuable insight into accounting processes and client services.
The opportunity to contribute ideas and help modernise office systems and workflows.
A role that could complement future studies or career development in accounting, finance, or business.
Reserved on-site car parking.
Convenient Lincoln Road location.
A stable, long-term opportunity with a reputable and growing local business.
If you're looking for a role where you can utilise your administration skills, contribute to positive change, and gain valuable exposure to the accounting world while being part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
