As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of our operations across multiple sites.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of operational delivery across MSRL.

This role provides strategic and hands‑on leadership to supervisors, planners, and site teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly, and profitably. You will have oversight of workforce performance, resource allocation, operational planning, and continuous improvement across the business.

Working closely with the Operations Planner & Scheduler, you will retain final authority over operational priorities, resourcing decisions, and delivery outcomes, while ensuring alignment with business capacity and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to operational teams across multiple sites

• Ensure supervisors effectively manage day‑to‑day site delivery and client relationships

• Maintain visibility across all operations to ensure consistent standards and performance

• Oversee operational planning and approve major shutdowns, projects, and resourcing strategies

• Resolve conflicts and constraints relating to labour, equipment, and competing priorities

• Provide operational oversight of major shutdowns and complex project work

• Ensure shutdowns and projects are delivered safely, on time, and within commercial parameters

• Oversee workforce utilisation and productivity to minimise idle time and inefficiency

• Address performance, conduct, or capability matters in collaboration with People & Culture

• Champion health, safety, and compliance across all sites

• Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

• Maintain oversight of operational costs, productivity, and profitability

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and commercial performance

• Support supervisors with key client relationships and escalated issues

• Review operational reporting and drive data‑led continuous improvement

About You

You are a confident and experienced operational leader who thrives in complex, fast‑paced environments. You are commercially aware, calm under pressure, and capable of balancing safety, performance, and profitability across multiple work fronts.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in an operations management or senior operational leadership role

• Strong understanding of multi‑site operational delivery

• Experience leading supervisors and operational teams

• Strong commercial and financial awareness

• Excellent planning, coordination, and prioritisation skills

• Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving capability

• Practical knowledge of industrial, construction, or maintenance environments

• Experience with shutdowns and project‑based operations (advantageous)

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Solid computer and reporting skills (Outlook, Word, Excel; planning systems preferred)

A trade or industrial background is highly regarded, as is formal training in operations, logistics, management, or business.
